VAI-122 airplane is intended for training flights, initial instruction, tourism, amateur, entertaining, advertising flights, etc.
Feature of the plane is the two-engined electrical power unit with layout of engines on the pylons disposed over a wing, the airframe made of carbon composites with small weight and a smooth surface, all airplane has rather small sizes that allows to reduce costs of production and maintenance, increases technical datas.





Two engines increase high flight safety, at improbable failure of one engine you can continue flight by other engine or come back on an airport of departure. The majority of manufacturers is offered by single-motor electric planes.
Engines also have a small rating concerning a fuselage that facilitates flight by one engine.

The electrical engines is easier than conventional piston engines, has a less operating cost, there are harmful lets, fuel and oil do not pollute a environment and do not fall on an airframe, electromotors have less cost, essentially smaller sizes and weight. Also probably to charge accumulators from the individual solar battery on the airfield.
Today parametres of Lithium accumulators provide sufficient duration of flight at moderate weight. Every year perfomances of accumulators more and more impruve, the price gradually decreases, extends the market of accumulators.

The electrical system of the plane actuates two electric motors of a power unit, controllers, the battery of lithium accumulators which is disposed in a fuselage behind a cabin.

The crew is disposed in a cockpit a side-by-side, it allows to enhance crew interacting in flight, and also reduces length of the plane and a structure weight. The streamline contour fuselage nose enhance aerodynamics of the plane, and the total square of a cockpit windows allows to have good forward view and sideways. The low arrangement of a bort side of a cabin allows pilots to execute boarding and debarkation without effort.




Feature of layout of engines over a wing allows to reduce flow burble  together  with positive effect of acceleration of an airflow by blasting by a stream  of propellers. So, the wing upper face is not covered by engine nacelles, they are uplifted on the pylons, which in itself  have  small sizes also. All these effects in the total reduce air drag and increase a lift.

Weight  of  engines  in  flight partially  compensates  action  of  wing  loads, and at motion of the aircraft about the ground is transmitted to the landing gear, also unloading an airframe.

The airplane wing is one-piece, two-spar, is made of a carbon composite has a skin of type a sandwich. The continuous wing allows to reduce an airframe weight and expenses for manufacture. The wing has specially developed aerofoil section with high lifting properties. The trailing edge has ailerons and slotted flaps. The fuselage of the monocoque structure, is made of composites, has power both standard bulkheads and a skin of sandwich-type. The cut-out of a cabin and cut-outs of hatches have a load-bearing edging. Fin of the plane is made one-piece with a fuselage.

In the basic version of the airplane the fixed undercarriage with a nosewheel  is envisioned. The fixed undercarriage allows to reduce costs of production and plane cost, to simplify maintenance. The version with the retractable landing gear is planed also.

For  rescue  of  crew  in case of origination of an unforeseen contingency situation on board is available  parachute system  at which enactment all plane manned is sinked on a brolly. The canopy of a parachute is drawn down by a special rocket, it allows to open a calotte more promptly and at smaller altitude, than at individual bail-out, reduces costs of efforts of crew in a contingency situation.
